Gracie on a walk

Just a few pictures to tie over the Grandma's.
Gracie out walking and snacking, and puddle jumping a few weeks ago.

Brad calls this her 'farm look.' Not sure why, exactly.... Usually he says this when one pant leg is hiked up and the other is tucked into her boot.

I'm not taking offense, so I guess you shouldn't either, if you're a farmer reading this.

Gracie waking up

Gracie is in between napping and not napping, so she's pretty sensitive to when she sleeps. I've started waking her up from her naps, so she'll sleep better at night, but it's always funny to see how she reacts.

This afternoon, when I woke her up, she rolled around, but kept her eyes closed.

I tried to tease a smile out of her by asking if she was still snoring (usually good for an easy laugh), but she ignored me.

I tried again, this time making a little snoring noise... nothing.

I tried one last time, snoring, asking if it was her, and tickling her.

She rolled over, held her finger to her mouth, and said, "Shhh... just stop talking..."

Jamaica Mixed Media Album

Here are a few sneak peaks into the first few pages of my Jamaica album. I was lucky enough to get most of a day to scrapbook with great friends/family on my birthday, so I spent some time on this:

This is a look at what it will look like all put together. These are just the first three pages, layered, but you get the idea.

I made the first page on a transparency. It was actually a leftover piece from some supplies. I added a few props to the photos so you can get a better idea of how it looks.

and the back of page 1:

The second page is a Bazzill chipboard refill. I used these in my Dominican album, too. They're great for this kind of project.

and the other side of page 2. I used glimmer mist on the chipboard page to get that shimmery, full-colour coverage.

The Fun in the Sun pocket folds into a little mini accordian album to house more photos, since I always have so many.

Folded up:

I must say, I love the Wanderer line by Bazzill. That's what I'm using for most of this album. The patterned paper in the little accordian album is one of my favourites.

 and folded down:

Page 3: Yes, it's a brown paper bag, and it's full of more tags and pictures.... I'll show more later.

Hope you're enjoying the peaks so far!

A few layouts about Christmas

That's right... Christmas.... I know I'm terribly off-season, but I just loved the look of these pictures and papers.
Webster's Pages makes some of the neatest paper, and it almost demands to be fussy-cut.

And some close-ups of this double-page layout.

I cut the snowflakes out with my Cricut, with a shadow in kraft cardstock and then cut the snowflake out of some gold, glittery cardstock. I used the leftover tiny snowflakes from my border punch as a centre.

This shows some of the borders that I fussy-cut and the little holly that I popped up.
I love pop-dots. So easy to add dimension. I popped up some of the photos, too, to make them stand out, since there are a lot of pictures on this spread.

Thanks for stopping by!

Gracie-isms

Just a few of the things Gracie has been saying lately:

"I fink... ummmm..." this is accompanied by chin scratching and looking off into the distance.

"cough cough" - washcloth.
She knows the word, but if she doesn't stop and think about it, she says, 'cough cough.'

"Excuse Me" Hurray! She's pretty good with 'please' and 'thank you' and 'your welcome', too.

"Huh?" I'm working on pardon me, but it's not catching on.....

"That's just goofy!" Describes anything that she's unsure of or that she knows is silly.

"Did you have any more calvies?" anytime Grams or Papa answer the phone.

"Take a pic" GG inspired this one. She makes an invisible camera over one eye and takes pictures.

"WAKE UP!" If anyone dares to pretend sleep near her, she let's them know it's time to get up. This is usually followed by a high-pitched burst of giggles.

"Why?" yikes.... we're definitely in the 'why' phase.

gymnastics goggles - this was started by her first gymnastics teacher. She had the kids put on gymnastics goggles so they could see when she was showing them something. It works great for Gracie, she puts on her 'goggles' (by cupping her hands around her eyes) and follows the teacher's movements.

I know there's more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.....

Easter Preparations

I know Easter's over, but we've been so busy, I never shared these pictures.

Gracie was really looking forward to Easter, this year. I think it was the displays of chocolate that had her so excited. Whatever it was, it was excellent motivation for her to be a good girl...

She tried to lure the Easter Bunny out of hiding on all of our walks....

She decorated Easter Eggs with her friends....

And, she got completely spoiled by that bunny!

This is a treat that Berlyn made Gracie. The Before and After shot.

She wanted to save some 'for tomorrow.' Unfortunately, even that only lasted about 15  minutes.

Birthday Weekend

I had such a great birthday! I got spoiled all week long. I got greetings, cards, phone calls and gifts from friends and family from all over, I got some great visiting in with friends and family, I got to scrapbook, shop, go out for supper and brunch, see a movie, and sleep in. Plus, I got two delicious cakes made for me.

I didn't take a picture of my mom's, but it was fantastic! Pumpkin, caramel, pecan cake!!! Yummy.

And Brad and Gracie made me this cake, which was also fantastic.

Check out the workmanship!!

Thanks everyone for making my last birthday before the big 3-0, so great!
