Grow, grow, grow!

Gracie had her ten day check in with the Health Clinic today. She's doing great! She's all ready gained nearly a pound! She weighed in at 7 pounds 9.5 ounces today, way up from her 6 pds 10 oz birthweight. The health nurse said she's doing great and looking healthy and happy, so I'm happy! No change in her height, though. Actually, they measured her as being a little shorter (different scales...)

We're getting into a pretty good routine, but she's been cluster feeding at night the past two nights, which is leaving me a little sleepy....

And now some sleepy baby pictures (to encourage her to sleep tonight):

A few of her outfits are a little big...

So relaxed.

Gracie's One Week Old!

Time flies when you turn into the paparrazzi....

Gracie is one week old today! Can you believe it's been a week since she appeared? She's doing great and we're setting up a bit of a schedule. She's really quite content, so unless she gets overtired or overstimulated, we have a happy little girl on our hands.

One day, each post won't be full of pictures of Gracie, but for anyone who's losing interest, this is not that day. I have a few more pictures to share:

Who will fall asleep first?

Tummy Time:

Just cause she looked so cute... a few shots of her big eyes:

Bath Time. She liked her second bath at home much better than her first...

The flowers the neighbour brought over for us. They smell fantastic! The whole house smells clean now :)

On our Own....

My mom has been up here helping since Gracie was born and she had to head home this morning, so we're officially on our own. She got to spend a part of her birthday here with her new grandbaby, so that's a nice little present. Hope the rest of the day is good, too (tell dad you're not allowed to do too much trucking on your birthday).

Actually, things are going pretty well here. We're setting up a bit of a routine and she's a really good baby, so we'll survive. It sure was nice to have an extra set of hands around to make meals and lend her experience by offering advice and help with everything around the house and just to have her here to visit with, plus my counters have never been so full of yummy baking.

Gracie's doing well. We're both kinda catching on to things so she's eating better and she usually sleeps fairly well. We went for our first little walk today in the stroller and she slept through it all, but I think the fresh air was good for all of us.

Here are a few more pictures of us and the grandparents with Gracie in the hospital:

And cuddling at home with my mom:

So peaceful:

Welcome Gracie Ella Malacko!

She's finally here!

Gracie Ella Malacko was born at the Royal Alexandra Hospital on Sept. 19th at 11:10 pm. She weighed in at 6 pounds 10 ounces and was 20.8 inches long. We got to come home Monday morning and we're all doing great.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes!

Here are some photos of our little girl:

Saskatoon Watch - Day Nine

That's right.... nothing happened yesterday. We actually got bumped. The hospital got busy and so we thought we had to wait until Monday. They called this morning at 11 though and said we could come in.

They started the induction, but sent me home to wait more comfortably....

Hopefully, news will come soon.

Baby, baby, baby...

Saskatoon Watch - Day 8:

Today is the day... Still no word on when I'll go in to the hospital, but hopefully soon!

In the meantime, I thought I'd show a few little baby crafts I've made in the last couple of days to give you your baby fix.

A quick little mini-album that's ready for pictures and some embellishments:

And a little decoration for the nursery:

Baby News and a Grey's Sneak Peak

Saskatoon Watch - Day 7:

Finally, some news... Things are coming along! There have been some changes and they're going to induce me tomorrow (unless something happens today). There should be a baby soon!

I've got today to get my house in order and finish some projects..... Should be a busy day!

Here is the last of the Ottawa book:

And a Grey's preview:

This is the first five minutes of the season premiere... Looks good.

Ottawa Book

I spent a little bit of time making a little mini album for Saskatoon yesterday. It was just a quick, fast little book that I've got ready to add pictures and a few embellishments to when the little one arrives. I'll take some pictures of it and show you later.

The good thing about Saskatoon being late is I'm getting lots done.... I'm not getting any weeding done, but most other things are getting done. I just can't seem to make myself pull weeds. Not that bored, yet.

A few more pictures of the Ottawa book. I like looking at this little mini album. It's nice to remember such a fun weekend away with just the two (and a half) of us.

Saskatoon Watch - Day 7:

Not too much to report again. No baby. We have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. Should have some more news after that.

Not too much to report. We went to the dog park again yesterday to try and add a few more steps to my day... I rolled some loose change this morning... How sad is that? Today, I'll clean the house and maybe get some scrapbooking in. Should be good.

Since I'm not too exciting, here are a few things other people are doing that I thought were interesting:

Taylor Swift won a MTV music video award for her video and Kanye West stormed the stage, stole the mike from her and said that Beyonce should have won.... Classy.

When Beyonce won an award, she called Taylor back out and let her make her acceptance speech. Much better.

Federer's phenomenal shot in the U.S. Open. Seriously. Phenomenal shot. And what a time to hit it?! Horse shoes.

And it's out... Caster Semenya (the South African runner involved in the gender scandal) is a hermaphrodite... Really? It took weeks to determine whether she is a female (should be a pretty quick test) and they're announcing this like it's a surprise.

And... back to some scrapbooking. Here are some more shots of the Ottawa book:

Saskatoon Watch - Day 6

Still no action...

Sunday, September 13, 2009

We went to the Farmer's Market yesterday and got some of the yummy bagels and ceam cheese one of the vendors makes there. I took the new wheels out to run some errands and Brad went for a bike ride. Nice, relaxing Saturday in Edmonton.

Otherwise, not much to report. Brad had his first hockey game last night, and they won in the shootout.

Here are a few pictures of the cover and first few pages of my Ottawa mini-album:

Saskatoon Watch - Day 5:

I spent the day out and about yesterday, on my feet all day walking and no baby...

Cookies, Plums and Saskatoon

A few of you asked for my Chewy Chocolate Chip Hazelnut Cookie Recipe, so I thought I'd post it here. Hope you like it as much as I did!

The Quick Instructions:

Beat 2/3 cup melted butter with 2 cups lightly packed brown sugar, 2 eggs, 2 Tbsp. hot water, and 2 Tbsp. vanilla; mix well.

Stir in 2 2/3 cups of flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. baking soda, and 1/4 tsp. salt.

Stir in 1 cup of white chocolate chips, 1 cup of milk chocolate chips, and 1 cup of coarsely chopped hazelnuts.

Drop from a spoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

I fished a few out of the cookie jar to show you what the finished product looks like. Unfortunately, there's not many left, and these have been at the bottom of the cookie jar so they're a bit scrushed, but they still taste good.

I substituted some of the chips for these swirl chips that I had on hand. If you're wondering where to get them, they're some of the Decadent chips from Superstore.

Some pictures of a few of our plums:

How did I not know these were plums? Well, I never looked real close, and they were teeny and red like crab apples at first.... plus, the tree bloomed like a crab apple tree. Oh well, they taste good.

Saskatoon Watch - Day 4:

I'm considering climbing over our back fence to jump on the neighbour's trampoline.... Maybe I can jump this baby out.
