Cute Christmas Project and Baking Extravaganza

I have to show you the cute Christmas project my talented mother made.

Aren't they neat? What a great gift.

I've all ready been hit by the busy holiday season. I've gotten away for a few days with friends and family for some quick Christmas shopping trips which were a blast and quite successful. The shopping is nearly done...now onto other Christmas endeavors.

I spent all last night baking up a storm, making cakes for a retirement party tonight.... they still haven't been decorated, but it kinda got me in the holiday baking mood. I might have to make a few treats this weekend to get started.

Okay, so it's a work in progress. These are the chocolate cherry cakes, just iced, no decorations yet...as I said, work in progress.

I've also started putting up some Christmas decorations around the house. I love this season.

I got this at the International Craft Market at Spruce Meadows a few weekends ago. I couldn't resist. I liked the colour so much I'm wondering how I could incorporate it into my house year round.

Is anyone else really feeling the cold this year?? It is freezing here in Lake Louise. Today, it was -30 C for my morning dog walk! Way too cold for me. Luckily, Bailey is a cozy toe warmer under my scrapbooking table, so it's still worth it. How could you resist that face?
